Geography of Africa

The Continent Africa, stretches from 4,600 miles East to West, and 5,000 miles from North to South. Most of this continent is covered in Deserts. The largest deserts in Africa are the Sahara desert which is north of the continent below the Sahara there is another desert stretch called the Sahel desert, and the second largest is the Kalahari desert with is located south of the continent. The deserts in Africa are largely unsuitable for human life
Africa's rain-forests are partly inhabitable, it produces mahogany and teak trees up to 150 feet tall! There is also a deadly insect called the Tsetse fly, they are found all throughout the rain-forest. The northern coast and southern tip of Africa have welcoming Mediterranean type climates and fertile soil. These areas are highly populated, with farmers and herders. Most humans in the continent live on the Savannas, which are grassy plains, that include mountainous highlands and swampy tropical stretches.
