How did trade affect and influence Ghana?
Ancient Ghana gained power and wealth from gold and the introduction of the camel during the Saharan trade. With the camel nomads blazed new routes across the desert and trade increased. The two most important trade items were gold and salt. Arab and Berber traders crossed the desert with camel caravans loaded down with salt, cloth, weapons, and manufactured goods from ports on the Mediterranean.
